While we wait, we pray for our little boy, that he is being loved and nurtured. We learned our lesson last time that worrying will not make this journey one second shorter, so instead we pray. We are also intentionally living each moment while we wait as a gift, being careful not to rush through this God-appointed time. If He wanted it to be shorter, He could surely do that. Since He hasn't, we know there is purpose for this wait so we seek Him for that purpose. When you're praying for our son, will you also pray for the other families throughout the world who wait for their Nepali children? It is the first adoption for many, and the wait the first time is SO hard, especially with all the uncertainty.
Back to our boy, Kyle recently informed me that he's not so sure about the name we had originally picked out, so I'm relieved we never told. This could happen a dozen more times till the little man comes home, so don't bother asking what the latest name choices are :)
Lily recently informed me that she doesn't want a little brother, little sister, big sister or big brother. In fact, she doesn't want "anyfing." It was in the context of sleeping in her room with her brother once he comes home, which I'm sure is what caused the ill feelings. So, Little Man, if you're reading this down the road-- you are very wanted, even by your rather spoiled big sister-- she just doesn't want to have to give anything up due to your arrival. Little does she know though, she only stands to gain! My brothers have been two of the biggest blessings in my life, and I know she'll say the same thing one day. Hopefully sooner than 35 years from now...

Giggling at the "she doesn't want 'anyfing.'" line. She will giggle too, someday, at the absurdity of it :)
ReplyDeletePraying with you for little brother. You are wise and loving mom to choose to live fully and embrace today. Tomorrow can rest in His Hands. Hugs to you!
I think the wait is the hardest but you seem to be handling it beautifully. It takes so much faith and relying on God. I can't wait for the next post! Hopefully things will be moving again. Our program shut down for a few months during our wait. I know it's so different from country to country. Did you already get an official referral? I don't know how things work w/Nepal.
ReplyDeleteBtw. I love the end of this post! Awesome thoughts!
